The Burn has changed dramatically
Last week fisheries officers began taking fin clip samples from the upper Garry.
Allt Glas Coire, below the intake, has changed dramatically from being devoid of life to a much more natural environment with good fry and parr densities.
This area was given a boost with stocking from reconditioning fish from the Summerhill hatchery. There are encouraging signs that wild fish are starting to return and making use of this new habitat.
The fin clips taken will be sent to UHI (University of the Highlands and Islands) where they will be differentiated between a hatchery fish stocked as an eyed ova and a fish from wild origin.
